Almost a week already???!!!

I cannot believe that our baby girl will be a week old tomorrow! Time has already flown by. I apologize that I have not done more blogging, but I have been a little pre-occupied :)

I wanted to post a few more pictures and let y'all know that everything is still going great. Aside from sore boobies, I have no complaints. :) It has been wonderful having Ryan home. He has been such a servant and I love to see him with Madalyn. He loves her so much! Tomorrow will be a sad day when he goes back to work. :(

Oh, if anyone has any tricks to help with the "soreness", I would love to hear them. It isn't unbearable, but anything could help.

So precious! It is so fun to see daddy's with their babies, isn't it? :) Congrats, again.

For the soreness-
Lansinoh cream and hot showers!

Good news is it will go away. I promise. I did not believe the nurses or the lactation consultant when she said that but it ended up being true.

www.kellymom.com is a great resource for breastfeeding questions.

I am so excited that Dad & I are going to see you on Friday. I can't wait to hold my granddaughter again. She is so beautiful. Sore boobies: warm compresses and don't become engorged. Pump, but do it lightly at first. Remember to change her position each time she nurses.
love mother

She is Beautiful! The Lansinoh helps alot, but also there are breastshield made by medela that are a hard shell and your nipple goes in a hole in the middle. You wear them all the time and it keeps the nipple suspended and about to breath. You can get them at babies'r'us for $14 with the breast pump supplies. Also don't start pumping till she's at least a month old and is on a schedule. Your body will produce as much as taken out. And if you pump too early you are going to be engorged all the time and in pain. I had tons of milk and was able to pump 18 to 24oz a day waiting until a month. Now if she isn't eating good from you and you want to keep your milk flow high then I would pump like once in the morning and freeze it. Also I don't know if you have to go back to work or not. But I stored up about 200 oz so when he stayed with my mom and at the daycare I would have enough milk for him. But you still have to pump every 3-4 hrs. It's tricky but you'll get it down. I feed Lyndon only breastmilk until 6mths and now he's almost 11mths and I'm still feeding him breastmilk at least once a day and girl he has 6 teeth now. I though I would quit when he got teeth but he's doing good and not bitting me. We'll god luck, if you need anything else my e-mail address is stephaniedummer@hotmail.com! Your doing great, enjoy every minute they grow so fast! Love you!

You can also call a local woman representing the La Leche League www.llli.org for FREE! Just go online and call to see what number you need for your area. They also have monthly meetings that are open to everyone.
