A Shark Ate My Phone Charger!

I have a true "pregnancy brain" story for y'all. At least that is what I am calling it because I don't want to take full responsibility for it. :)

Last week I bought a Shark vaccum cleaner. It is the kind you plug in to charge and it cleans non-carpeted floors. Well, it sucked...or rather it didn't suck like I wanted it to, so I took it back to Wal-Mart a couple of days later.

About the same time, I got a new phone because I had broken mine (suprise, suprise). I had both of the chargers on my sewing machine (I think you know where this is going). When I went to package the Shark back up, I grabbed the wrong charger and put my new phone charger in the box to take back.

I didn't realize it until the next day when I went to charge my phone and the charger wouldn't fit. I had to laugh! I went back to Wal-Mart to get a new charger and hope that I could find the box with the wrong charger. No luck on either account. I couldn't find the box and they were out of chargers. I had to get a car charger to get a little charge on my phone and then go to the AT&T store to get a house charger.

SO, if you tried calling or texting me a few days ago, I probably didn't get it because my phone was dead.

Do any of you have any crazy stories like this? If they happened during pregnancy it would make me feel even better! Oh, and I also feel so bad for the person that bought the Shark I returned. What a hassle I caused them.

Domino's : 30 Minutes or the Pot is Free

Y'all I have to share our experience with Domino's last weekend.

Ryan and I were having our friend John over for pizza and basketball last Saturday. I ordered from Domino's around 7 o'clock. By 8 o'clock we still didn't have our pizza. I called and the guy told me that the delivery guy was out and he would be there is about 5 minutes. 10 minutes passed, still no pizza. I get a call from the driver saying he is lost (note: Domino's is about 3 minutes from our house, and our street consists of about 10 houses). I told him exactly where we were and he said he would be there is 5-7 minutes. Again, Domino's is 3 minutes away, and he was already out and about.

Ryan made a comment that he is probably somewhere smoking pot. Not thinking much of it, and knowing he was probably correct, we waited a few more minutes.

Finally, at about 8:20, the pizza shows up with the pizza and our cold 2-liter of Dr. Pepper (for Ryan). We take everything to the kitchen and Ryan realizes that there is "grass" all over our Dr. Pepper. It had been in the front seat of the delivery guy's car. John and I walk in there and realize it was POT! Ryan was right! There was enough on the bottle that we could have rolled a joint with it.

I simply put it under the faucet and washed it off. I was shocked! Ryan and John were not. We all three got a huge laugh, thankfully, because we were ticked that it took so long to get our pizza. We will never order from this Domino's again.

Doctor's Appointment

I went to the doctor yesterday (Monday). I had to see an associate of my doctor because she is out of town until next Wednesday. I have to admit that this has caused some worry on my part. I really want my baby delivered by my doctor. I don't know her associate, and he doesn't know anything about mine and Ryan's wishes for a natural delivery. So, as uncomfortable as I am getting, I am praying that she stays in until at least next Wednesday.

Here is the info from the appointment:

Blood Pressure good. No weight gain. Baby's heartbeat is good. I measured 35 cm (last week I was at 38cm). The doctor told me that this means she has dropped. I feel as though she has as well because my feet are swollen, I am urinating more, and I have been irregular (read, constipated. sorry for the intimate details)

Since my doctor won't be back until next Wednesday, I have the ultrasound on Wednesday and have a regular appointment on Thursday.

Let's pray that Madalyn cooperates and stays in until then. Pray for me too...that I won't have any unnecessary worry (none!). It is all in God's hands anyway, and that is what I keep reminding myself of.

Today's Doctor's Appointment

I had another appointment today. They are now every week since I only have about 3 weeks left to go...I can hardly believe it!

Blood pressure was good. Baby's heartbeat was good. I gained 4 pounds for a total of 18 for the whole pregnancy. I have noticed I am retaining a bit more fluid than I normally do. I did test positive for the Group B Strep so I will have to have antibiotics at the hospital. This is normal though...2 out of 3 women test positive...not a big deal.

The doctor did schedule me for an ultrasound on April 1st (39 weeks) to see exactly how big Madalyn is. She wants to be prepared for a large (9 pounder) baby. She said she feels more comfortable knowing more so we can better prepare and not have to discuss things while I am in labor. I am okay with this as a precaution. I still believe my body will do what it wants to do and stretch as much as it wants to to birth my baby. I am thankful that my doctor does have my best interests at heart and really wants to be prepared for anything to happen.

Of course, all of this won't be necessary if I have her before April 1st. The doctor said that she is still pretty high (thinking I will probably go full-term), but she said anything could happen.

On a really super, duper, exciting note...there is a possibility that one of my favorite people in the whole world is coming to visit at the end of this week! Let's hope everything works out so she can come for a couple of days! YEA!!!!

Dr's Appointment

Before I forget...here is the update from my Dr.'s Appointment from yesterday.

I lost 2 lbs. I have gained 14 lbs. throughout the entire pregnancy.

My blood pressure was good.

The baby's heartbeat sound good.

I had the Group B Strep test done...results to follow.

The baby has plenty of amniotic fluid and she is growing great. The Dr. guesstimated that she is weighing in at 7 - 7.5 lbs. already.

FOUR weeks to go!...if she doesn't grace us with her presence sooner.

love to all,
meredith

4 1/2 weeks to go!

I have a check-up tomorrow, but I wanted to get these pictures posted since we take them on the 7th of each month.

I cannot believe I am 9 months pregnant. One month to go...if I make it that long.
