I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and wanted to update everyone.
On the day of my appointment I was 33 weeks and 5 days.
Weight gain - 3 lbs. (i had lost 4 the last appointment...go figure...i am like a roller coaster)
My blood pressure is great.
Madalyn's heartbeat is strong.
I am measuring 36 centimeters.
Her head is down! Praise the LORD! I already had a talk with her and told her she had to stay that way...no flipping around. :)
Hope everyone has a great week. Pictures of the nursery soon.

Valentine's Day!
We don't typically care for Valentine's Day. We both think it is way too commercialized. But, we did get engaged on Valentine's Day in 2006, so we tend to celebrate our engagement more than the fact that it is Valentine's Day.
My first gift was Ryan not working. He has been working on Saturdays a lot and he decided we needed a Saturday with each other. I was super excited!
We slept in and were awakened by the door bell. He had ordered my favorite flowers (tulips) and had them delivered along with a small box of chocolates! I was so surprised!
We relaxed the whole day! We hung some curtains, did some work in the baby's room, and went to the store to get stuff for supper. Ryan made us some boiled shrimp, stuffed salmon, crab cakes, hush puppies, and asparagus! It was so good! I made him a cheesecake as my gift to him. And I must say it was pretty good too. :) We also exchanged cards. He always gets the perfect cards (just like my dad) and always writes something that makes me cry. I think my hormones were on overdrive because I bawled like a baby! It was actually kind of humorous.
I hope everyone had a beautiful and enjoyable weekend. Have a super week y'all!

Baby Shower Nostalgia
I promised that I would share a couple of things about the shower that were really sentimental to me. So, here is that post...with pictures!
The first thing that got me choked up was opening a gift from my mama (my mom's mom). She told me that I better be prepared for my sisters to try and steal this gift from me.
Y'all, these are my moms from when she was a baby! The little shoe was a gift from a friend that had flowers in it, and this is my mom's baby brush! Since I was the first to have a girl, my mama gave these to me! I was shocked.
Secondly, I got this from my mother-in-law.
This is a blanket and booties that Ryan's great-grandmother made for Ryan before he was born. Everyone thought he was going to be a girl because his mom already had a boy. So, just in case, his great-grandma knitted these for his mom. She saved them and gave them to us for Madalyn! I cannot wait to tell her one day that her great-great-grandma knitted these! I am definitely going to get pictures taken of her in them.

8 Months and Counting
Doctor's Appointment
I went to the doctor on Wednesday for my two week check-up. Here are the details...
I am 32 weeks along. Only 8 more to go, if I deliver on my EDD.
I lost 3 lbs. Not surprisingly because of the bug that infested my body on Monday. But, since August 29th (8 weeks) I have only gained 13 lbs.
My blood pressure was great...I think it was 112/68
Her heartbeat sounded great.
I am measuring 35 centimeters. (3 ahead of schedule). The doctor said I will either deliver early or she is really big. Only God knows the day and time, but I am hoping that she comes a little early...i want her to be here!
No crazy symptoms to announce. Everything is great. I go back in 2 weeks.
One thing...I asked the doctor how long she would let me go over my due date without being induced. She said there were a lot of factors, but if I am still measuring big, she said she would only let me go over about a week. So, PRAY, really hard for an early or on-time delivery. I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY do NOT want to be induced!
I love you all.

Updates
I know it has been a while. Life has been a whirlwind. I felt the need to get on here and post a few updates (pictures coming soon).
Since my last blog so much has been going on as we get ready for Madalyn's arrival. It is going to be here sooner than we can imagine, and we are so excited! We can't wait to meet her!
I spent some time in Houston over the weekend. I got in on Thursday night. Friday, my dad and I ran errands ALL day. I was beat! There are so many things that I cannot get in El Dorado that I had to get in Houston, and this was the only day to do it all.
Saturday we had our first baby shower. Unfortunately, Ryan was not able to be there because he had to work. But, I did use our wonderful new video camera (which, btw we got a STEAL on) to capture everything for him and Madalyn. It was such an amazing and overwhelming experience for me. I was blown away by the generosity of so many loved ones. I will share a few stories (with pictures included) in a future blog. Big props to my mom, my two wonderful sisters, my bro's girlfriend, and one of my besties DANNA! They did such an amazing job hosting the shower. It was more than I could have ever imagined. Oh, and a shout to my baby brother for providing the Starbucks!
Sunday was my nephew Dawson's 7th Birthday. We had a little family party at my sister's house to celebrate. One thing to mention about his birthday. He had a Star Wars themed party. His grandma Judy made him a Jedi cape just like Luke Skywalker has! It was seriously one of the coolest things I have ever seen.
Monday, I was planning on driving back to Arkansas, but I caught a stomach bug and was forced to stay one more day curled up on the couch. It was not fun! I focused on drinking a lot of water and eating the BRAT diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast). By Tuesday morning I was good to go and got to come back to Arkansas.
The trip was uneventful and it was wonderful to get to see Ryan. I missed him so much. We also got to go through all of the things we were blessed with at the shower. He was in shock at the amount of pink that had been moved into our house!
I will post about my doctor's appointment in a minute. Thanks again to everyone who made my shower something that I will remember for the rest of my life.
Love to you~
